Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
An official for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into allegations of questionable actions directed at young women.
The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.
Television and Literature
His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
