'Living a Nightmare': Families of Missing Teens Await Information After Ski Resort Fire

The relatives of young people lost after a devastating fire at a venue in a Switzerland's alpine town are facing an excruciating period of uncertainty for official news and pleading for any details about their family members publicly.

The blaze devastated the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the small hours of January 1st. Circulated images reveal the roof structure catching alight as bottles with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have warned that it could take considerable time to formally name the those who perished of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of four dozen individuals and wounded another scores more. Authorities stated on the latest update that the majority of the those hurt have been identified, with efforts continuing to identify the remaining few.

In the interim, families and friends have been posting on social media to request information about their missing relatives who were present at the venue that night.
