Palestinian-American Adolescent Freed Following Nine Months in Israel's Imprisonment

An Palestinian-American adolescent having endured 270 days in imprisonment by Israel without being charged was released.

Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 when he was arrested this past winter throughout the West Bank territory, during a family visit on holiday from Florida accused of stone-throwing toward Israeli settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.

American diplomatic officials said it welcomed the teenager's freedom.

Now sixteen years old, needed medical care right after being freed, according to close relatives.

According to them, he appears pale, underweight, and is suffering from conditions acquired while detained.

Via family representatives, family spokesperson conveyed their "immense relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" throughout the past nine months.

"Right now, our priority is ensuring Mohammed receives urgent medical care he needs after experiencing mistreatment by authorities and brutal treatment throughout his detention."

American authorities said it would continue to offer diplomatic assistance to Mohammed's family.

{"American leadership considers paramount to the protection and welfare of American nationals"," it added.

Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to diplomatic officials and the administration, demanding more be done to secure his release.

The father, a father-of-four who runs an ice cream business from Florida, previously claimed his son only confessed regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.

There were no visits nor direct contact following the detention, learning information solely regarding the treatment in detention through court documents.

Mohammed was held lacking indictment at Ofer detention facility on the West Bank.

It is also home to mature inmates, some of whom have been convicted of serious terrorism offences and homicide.

Approximately 350 Palestinian minors in security custody currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Numerous remain uncharged while advocacy organizations, including UN bodies, document cases involving mistreatment and torture.

Subsequent to his liberation, Mr Kadur said relatives would persist in advocating for justice for his cousin family member Sayfollah.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen who the Palestinian health ministry said succumbed to assault by settlement residents during a confrontation in July.

Initially, the Israeli military said authorities were looking into accounts of a Palestinian had died.

The two cousins collaborated within the family's frozen treats establishment based in Florida.

No indictments occurred regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We anticipate US authorities to protect our families," Mr Kadur said.
