Trump Welcomes Relatives of Attacked National Guard Personnel to the White House

Former President Trump stated on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the presidential home.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Incident

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Memorials across the state have occurred in their memory.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief stated he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the families of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president addressed the press. “And in the same way with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Community members assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both they had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid public safety in DC.

Honoring the Soldier

“She was the type of pupil that educators hoped for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s alma mater, told the Associated Press. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to assist people.”

Service plans for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Measures and Policy Changes

Authorities have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The tragedy caused the Trump administration to pause asylum applications and cease issuing visas to holders of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, according to the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Morrisey stated on a news program.

Attorney general the attorney general told a news show that she aimed to speak to his relatives.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had fortitude,” the governor told the crowd at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
