Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.

These accusations come after an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage taken after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.

A toddler was among those injured in the event. Five people required hospital care and were later discharged.

This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
